Piscine Exam Rules

Before every exam you have to do the following:

1. Sign up for the Exam Project available on Intra: https://projects.intra.42.fr
2. Sign up for the Exam Event available in Intra calendar: https://profile.intra.42.fr/events
3. Show up for the exam 15 min in advance. You need to be on time. Latecomers will not be admitted.

• The exam cluster (usually on the 4th floor) will be closed one hour before the exam. Do not leave anything in the clusters. It will reopen 15 minutes before the exam.
• Login process
  • Login with username exam and password exam
  • Open the terminal. Type examshell. Log in with your Intra login and password.
    • Important: Have your password memorized, it is not allowed to bring it on a sheet of paper
  • You have a time limit of 15 minutes to log into the exam with the steps above, after that it is not possible to start the exam and you will have to leave the cluster.
• Your code will be compiled with the flags -Wall -Wextra -Werror
• Do not change your password after signing up for the exam. In case you did, please unsubscribe and sign up again.
• We will have to open windows during the exam to let air in. You might want to bring warm clothing.
• Usual House Rules still apply (e.g. regarding drinks and food).

Failure to comply with any of the following rules or any attempt to cheat will result in exclusion from the exam, -42 on the exam, and may be followed by additional sanctions.

• It is forbidden to log in to your personal session in the exam cluster, after you have entered and before you leave.
• You must use the exam login and the exam password.
• It is forbidden to log in with another student's login information.
• Logging into the system before the start of the exam is forbidden.
• Phones, smartwatches, and other objects (connected or not) are forbidden, they must be turned off and put in your bag. Your bag must be on the floor under the desks. Off does not mean flight-mode. Off means off.
  • If your phone rings, it is considered not turned off
• You are not allowed to keep any items on you. Only allowed on your desk:
  • Paper (3 sheets max, nothing on them)
  • pen/pencil
  • a mechanical watch
  • handkerchiefs
  • Earplugs (no earphones or headphones)
  • Water bottle (on the floor)
• All connected personal devices (keyboard, mouse, ..) are prohibited during the exam.
• Your papers must be blank until the exam begins.
